Spanda

Systemic Theory and Practice in Family Constellations 2020 Bangalore, India

Spanda, in association with Ochre (Ireland) is happy to offer a 4 module course on Systemic Theory & Practice in Family Constellations in Bangalore, India.

Course Overview

The Course comprises of four modules. (total 12 days/ 72 hours)
Each module comprises of 3 days from 9am to 5.15pm each day.

Our Intention:

  • That this course will enable you to experience phenomenologically and learn cognitively the principles and fundamentals of systemic family constellation work.
  • That you will start thinking systemically as you expand your understanding and see the individual within a larger context when you notice and feel what influences the dynamics within a family system
  • That in the continuum, you experience personal growth and healing through this course.
We will explore the unconscious intergenerational dynamics operating in our very sacred families, the consequences of the events of life whereby people shut down and hearts have to close.

We will learn about how the personality manages the experience of the intergenerational effects of loss, trauma and exclusion within personal and cultural histories.

We hope that you will learn what moves the Soul as you become more familiar with the grammar and language of the personality and the family system and then start the process of translating it into the language of the Soul.

Family Constellations

In constellation work we can see a broader picture of the principles of relationship and how they colour our understanding of how people reach out in the yearning to be met and how contact with others gets interrupted. You can see clearly the ways in which people do belong in family systems often connected by blinding and binding loyalties and the wise adaptations of the personality that helped us survive so life could flow on.

We learn what happens when hearts and souls have to close, how we belong in the contexts we inhabit, the loyalties we are divided between, the importance of our place and the consequences of our bonds.

We see how 'blind love' operates in the dynamics of compensation and identification within a family system and the innocence, guilt and limitations of different levels of conscience.

We see clearly what happens when what has been separated or excluded is brought back together. Inclusive compassion is the lens used for enlarging the family picture.

Modules - an overview

Learning during each module will be offered theoretically and at an experiential level:
  • Introduction to module
  • Meditation/ exercises to deepen presence
  • Teaching/theory
  • Practice: constellation work, small group work.
You will be invited to think systemically and move in a field where all that has been created has a place and a purpose, where everything belongs.

As we deepen into presence we will explore our understanding of ‘the field’, which unfolds in constellation work and see what happens when we pay minute attention and listen to the truth of experience coming through the body.

We will learn when the heart is open and when it is closed and become aware of the subtle movements of the soul.

The movement from the past is into alignment with the present and agreement with all that ‘is’ just as we are, just as it is.

Her work reflects an integrated, systemic and spiritual approach.

Her areas of interest include working in the areas of family, couple relationships, parenting, education and personal growth. Her workshop ‘Healing your Inner Child & Living in the Power of Now’ has gained significant interest since 2012, as it continues to integrate the systemic lens and offers a space to grow an inner resilience.

Annie says, Annie says, "My work has been deeply influenced, not only by my life and work experiences, but also by my years as a farmer practicing sustainable organic farming. Exploring the analogy, sustainable farming is about finding a balance and about working with both what is healthy and unhealthy, with growth promoters and growth retardants - with life as it is.

The fruit of this way of living is that of flowing with natural energies and of being in harmony. I believe that balance and centredness within our being can only be achieved by bringing harmony to the indivisible body, mind and soul that is guided by a greater power.”

Holistic wellness and healing takes place when we bring back the balance, transcending our entanglements and moving beyond blame to an agreement with life as it is.”

Module 1

Bringing together that which has been separated

This module serves the first principle of relationship:

"The Right to Belong”

During this module we will be looking at beginnings and sources:
  • Starting the course.
  • The origins of family constellation work.
  • The source of life and how it comes down to us.
  • The three principles of relationship and what helps love flow.
  • Who belongs in our family system.
  • Family bonds, what is an entanglement and an identification.
  • What happens when hearts have to close.
  • The knowing field; the phenomenological stance.
We will ask you to observe how energy, order and facts operate in different constellations over the days and what you observe and experience phenomenologically around the facilitators, the representative experience and the holding group.

We will ask that you keep a diary and choose a ‘training client’ who you now look at though a systemic lens. If you do not have a ‘training client’, you can journal your own work/ life experience as you use the systemic lens.

MODULE 2

Bonding and the limits of conscience

This module serves the second principle of relationship:

"The Balance of Giving and Taking"

During this module we will be exploring Bert Hellinger’s teaching on conscience.

Understanding the different levels of conscience as they operate in all the groups we belong to and seeing them at work in these groups.
  • Innocence and Guilt
  • Divided loyalties and reciprocity
  • How the different parts of ourselves interact
  • Couple relationships
We will invite you to pay particular attention to:
  • The client (during and after the constellation) and your own phenomenology
  • The Psychodynamic aspects: parts of the personality
  • Transference and countertransference
  • And to continue your observation and journal

MODULE 3

How love flows

This serves the third principle of relationship:

"Order"

During this module we will be exploring:
  • Bert Hellingers teaching on 'The Art of Helping'
  • Me here, you there: the clear sacred space between us which allows us to work together.
  • Object relations
  • Interrupted reaching out movement
  • The victim/perpetrator dynamic
  • Hierarchy and seeing when things are/not in their right place.

We would like you, during this module, to focus on:
  • The cognitive behavioural aspect to the work, does it change behaviour and if so then how?
  • Keep observing the relationship between the facilitator and the client.

MODULE 4

Including everything with love

Serving that which we all participate in:

"The Greater Soul"

In this module we shall explore:
  • Beyond good and evil there is a place…Beyond the personality, beyond judgement... can we inhabit it in the systemic flow of work?
  • The symptom, its purpose and what does it tell us?
  • The teaching will be on ‘the spirit mind will lead us into ‘The blind constellation’ where representatives work without knowing the question, relying on representative experience
We would like you in this module, to focus on being in alignment and the transpersonal aspect of constellation work.

CONCLUSION

Before the course concludes you will be asked to write an essay to include on the following topics:
  1. What you have learned about thinking systemically.
  2. What you understand about the principles of relationship in systemic work.
  3. What you understand about the consequences of conscience and beyond.
  4. What do you understand about the simple structures of how a constellation is set up and worked?
  5. What you know about the field in which the work unfolds.
  6. Please tell us about your personal & professional experience & development over this time.
  7. If you have had a ‘training client’ please outline your experience of holding a client in this way (it may have been that you held this person ‘in your mind’ systemically). What has been the effect on them.
If you have not had a ‘training client’, you can outline your own work/ life experience as you have used the systemic lens.
In each of the above, how do you see yourself including what you have learned in your work/life.

After meeting the criteria for course completion, you will receive a certificate of completion from Colette Green, Ochre & Annie Cariapa, Spanda.
